On November 15th, 2024, the MSK Network Trainee Committee hosted the Navigating the Future: Scholarship and Career Options for Trainees – Webinar which featured presentations from Dr. Roberta Bgeginski, Kyoko Sutton, Amin MohammadiNasrabadi and Dr. Adrian Lai. Dr. Jesse Charlton moderated the session.
The virtual webinar had an attendance of around 30 members online, and trainees across Canada attended the session.

- Roberta Bgeginski, PhD. Research Officer, Western University: Roberta has a PhD in Medical Sciences and postdoctoral training in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Kinesiology. She is the Research Officer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and has vast experience in Tri-council scholarship and fellowship funding opportunities. Roberta has provided direct support to hundreds of f. aculties, grad students and postdoctoral scholars in their pursuit of funding for their research endeavours
- Kyoko Sutton, MDes, Senior Advisor Business Development, Mitacs: Kyoko is a Mitacs advisor dedicated to connecting academia and industry to foster innovation. She has supported diverse initiatives that advance research while providing young researchers with opportunities to expand their career paths and open new doors.
- Amin MohammadiNasrabadi, MSc: Amin has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He travelled from Iran to Canada in 2021 and is currently pursuing his PhD in the School of Kinesiology at UBC. His fields of interest are sensorimotor physiology of standing balance, biomechanics, and Artificial Intelligence. His current endeavor is the development of reinforcement learning models to describe the control of standing balance. He has worked as a teaching and research assistant during his Master’s and PhD. Through his career, he has guided students in their academic career and projects.

Adrian Lai, Ph.D. Senior Research Scientist, Product Innovation Lululemon Athletica: Dr. Adrian Lai is a Senior Research Scientist in Product Innovation at Lululemon. He did his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne. As a member of the research and development team at Lululemon, he is involved in introducing shape, surprise, and engineer delight into Lululemon’s future products through the lens of scientific knowledge and insights.
