The McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health International Research Conference: Advancements in Osteoarthritis – From Discovery to Treatment, will bring together experts, trainees, clinicians, and industry partners to explore the latest advances in osteoarthritis research and care.

The conference will focus on emerging therapies for osteoarthritis, advances in chemical and biochemical approaches, innovative imaging modalities, and evolving clinical practices.

kNOw-PAIN Conference – Western University

Registration for the free kNOw-PAIN Conference is now open! The event is open to all who are interested, including researchers, clinicians, patients, and others.

The conference will focus on interdisciplinary approaches to pain research and topic highlights include neuropathic pain, psychedelics in pain, and a showcase of local pain research and clinics. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Andrew Rice and attendees will learn from leading experts in pain research.

ICSET 2026 Call for Workshops and Symposia Abstracts

The International Congress on Shoulder & Elbow Therapy (ICSET) will be taking place from September 22nd – September 25th, 2026, in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada.

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submission Deadline (Workshops and Symposia): 30th June 2025
  • Abstract Submission Address: karen.ginn@sydney.edu.au
  • Notification of Outcome: 30th September 2025

Focused Symposia Format

  • Each Focused Symposium will be 1.5 hours in duration
  • A member of the Symposium team will Chair the Symposium
  • It is anticipated that each Focused Symposium will include presentations from each panel member, discussion between panel members & discussion with the Symposium audience.

Abstracts are invited that:

  • synthesize the findings of the latest research into shoulder & elbow dysfunction
  • apply the findings of the latest research to current management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction
  • address new & unique developments in the management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction
  • describe innovative ways in which the management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction has been adapted to meet the changing needs of clinical practice

Selection Criteria

  • Submitted abstracts will undergo a blind review process conducted by international reviewers.
  • Preference will be given to international Symposia teams i.e. consisting of presenters from different countries/regions.
  • The following principles will be used to review Abstracts:
    • The significance/importance of the topic addressed in the Symposium to an international audience of shoulder & elbow therapists
    • The contribution of the Symposium to the advancement of evidence-based management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction

Workshop Format

  • Workshops will be 1.0 to 1.5 hours in duration
  • It is anticipated that Workshops will be largely practical sessions in which Workshop participants are, for example, engaged in exploring examination &/or treatment techniques, developing in depth clinical reasoning skills, critically evaluating exercise strategies etc.

Abstracts are invited that:

  • explore innovative, evidence-based examination & treatment strategies for shoulder & elbow dysfunction
  • incorporate the latest research findings to the clinical reasoning process in the assessment & management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction
  • explore innovative ways in which the management of shoulder & elbow dysfunction can been adapted to meet the changing needs of clinical practice

Canadian MSK Network Hybrid Meeting June 12th, 2024

Thank you to Dr. Joy MacDermid, Dr. Jesse Charlton, Dr. Emil Schemitsch, and Dr. Janie Wilson for presenting on behalf of the Canadian MSK Rehab Research Network at the COA Annual Meeting in Halifax. Around 70 participants joined the meeting both in-person and online.

Fragility Fracture Network North American Regional Congress October 22nd, 2024

The Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) North American Chapter is hosting a 1-day meeting in Montreal on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024.

The FFN is a global network that aims to improve the interdisciplinary care, including secondary prevention (e.g. fall prevention), of patients experiencing fragility fracture.

Early Career Researchers, Post-Doctoral Fellows, MSc and PhD students, submit your abstracts and showcase your work to influential researchers, clinicians and decision-makers to help advance knowledge and innovation in care of patients with fragility fractures. Abstract submissions are due July 15th.

The 4th International Symposium for Arthrogryposis

The 4th International Symposium for Arthrogryposis hosted by the Shriners Hospital for Children will take place in Montreal on September 29th to October 1st, 2024. Pre-congress workshops will occur on Saturday September 28th.

Sessions, panels, and pre-congress workshops will centre around the symposium’s theme “From the womb to adulthood” and showcase experts in orthopedics, rehabilitation, genetics, neurology and people with lived experience from across the world.

Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) 2025 Annual Meeting

The ORS 2025 Annual Meeting will take place February 7th to 11th in Phoenix, Arizona. The Annual Meeting will bring the orthopaedic community together to take part in five days of workshops, learning sessions, networking, advocacy, and more. Attendees from various career stages and many disciplines will gather to learn about the latest innovations in orthopaedics.

The ORS Scientific Program Committee is seeking workshop applications for the Annual Meeting. Workshop applications must be submitted by April 22nd.

The ORS Research Council is seeking ideas for Symposia, Back to Basics, and Bench to Bedside sessions for the Annual Meeting. Ideas must be submitted by April 22nd.

The ORS is looking for suggestions for Spotlight Speakers for the Annual Meeting. Suggestions must be submitted by April 22nd.

Abstract submissions will be open from June 17th to August 26th, 2024.
